Aspen Colorado Is A Beautiful Destination
Aspen is known for its great winter skiing, but it is also a top destination for fall leaf viewing. Aspen offers many campgrounds, as well as plenty of hiking, and other outdoor activities, including ziplining and other rope climbing activities at Aspen Snowmass. Nearby is Rocky Mountain National Park and Denver. Perhaps you may even experience the first snowfall while you are here.
Lake of the Ozarks
One often overlooked fall destination is the Ozarks, in Southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. Travel the Arkansas Scenic Byway along the Buffalo National River where the many gorges, canyons, and canoeing make this a must-see. In Missouri, you will find Ozark National Scenic Riverway where you can camp and enjoy many activities. Be sure to visit the nearby entertainment mecca of Branson, Missouri.
Carson National Forest
Carson National Forest is highly recommended and contains an 85-mile span around some of New Mexico’s highest peaks. View the leaves from your car on Taos ski valley or “Enchanted Loop”, or take the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railway. The campgrounds are on a reservation system, so plan ahead.
Yosemite National Park
Located in central California this is another must-see for anyone, especially RVers. In it’s 1200 square miles you will find giant sequoia’s, waterfalls, open meadows, and a vast wilderness. Reservations are needed for park entrance and camping. Choose from one of Yosemite’s many activities to complete your trip.
North Cascades National Park
It is well worth the trip to northern Washington to answer the call of the Northern Cascades and the many activities and beautiful scenery this park offers. Located just 3 hours from Seattle you will experience jagged peaks and over 300 glaciers, as well as a wide array of activities. Make reservations early for your RV campsite.
