Here’s What’s New At Disney World

Disney World looked very different during the lockdown orders, but things are returning to normal at the most magical place on earth. In fact, 2021 and 2022 may be the most exciting years ever. This is because many of the attractions slated for a 2020 debut got rescheduled for the park’s reopening. 

Check the Disney World website before making definite plans on new attractions. Some of these offerings are tentative, and they may adjust others based on public health updates. Either way, these new crowd-pleasers will ensure you have something to do whether you drive your own or a rented RV to Orlando!

The World’s Most Magical Celebration 

The biggest news at Disney World is currently The World’s Most Magical Celebration. The resort is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and you can expect a variety of great recent additions. Changes will come to character costumes, projection mapping, the overlay of Cinderella Castle, and more. 

The celebration starts on October 1, 2021. Don’t worry if you can’t make it right away. After all, it would take at least 18 months to celebrate this anniversary properly. That’s why Disney World has slated it to go on for that long!

Attractions Slated for 2020 Debut 

A variety of major additions had debut dates listed for 2020, but this changed when the pandemic put things on hold. Fortunately, many of these attractions are coming in 2021. Harmonious, Space 220, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure should all be available by the end of the year. 

Future World Replaced with New Neighborhoods 

Future World is getting removed from the front of Epcot, but it’s being replaced with three new magical neighborhoods. You’ll also find a three-level festival center once construction is complete. A timeline for completion has not yet been released, but this could push into 2023. 

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind 

Some of the best experiences at Disney World happen on roller coasters. And if you drove to the resort in a smooth-riding RV, you need a little thrill in your life. The Guardians of the Galaxy ride is a hybrid roller coaster. Disney promised this as a part of their 50 year anniversary, but they could push its opening into 2022. 

Moana: Journey of Water

Disney World’s Moana: Journey of Water will be the first attraction based on the popular movie. This is likely to open up in 2022, but it may come earlier if fans are lucky. The attraction is a water maze at the front of Epcot. All the beauty of nature will surround you, so get ready for a majestic experience. 

Mickey Shorts Theater 

Located in the former home of Star Wars: Path of the Jedi, Mickey Shorts Theater offers a sit-down movie experience where visitors enjoy some of the company’s most popular short films in a whimsical theater. Afterward, there is a special photo op room that will be great for social media vacation posts.
