RV Parks Near the RokIsland Music Festival
The Florida Keys might seem tiny after road-tripping through the grand state of Florida, but there are plenty of RV campgrounds for visitors heading to the RokIsland Music Festival.
Milemarker 4.5 is where you can pull intoLeo’s Campground and RV Park. Leo’s is a simple, family-owned campground with around 50 back-in gravel RV sites for up to 42-foot rigs with water, electric, and sewer hookups. Amenities include laundry facilities, Wi-Fi spots, tiki huts, a dog park, and water access for dinghies, kayaks, and paddleboards. NOTE: They don’t have tent sites or a bathhouse.
A great little Key West camping gem (if you can snag a reservation in time) is the El Mar R.V. Resort, just a mile and a half off U.S. 1 on Mile Marker 5. Eleven private campsites have gravel with patios for 26′ rigs or larger, 30/50 amp hookups, electric, cable and Wi-Fi, city water, and paved roads. They allow up to two pets under 25 lbs.
When you hit mile marker five, you’ll find Boyd’s Key West Campground. It has a bathhouse, laundry, pavilion with lots of activities, pool, tiki hut, boat ramp, picnic pavilion, Elsie Boyd’s Garden, and Wi-Fi hotspots. There are several types of campsites available. Reserve early and claim a premium open waterfront view of Boca Chica Basin with back-in sites. Includes water, sewer, cable, and 50/30 amp electricity.

There is one additional RV campground on Key West. The Naval Air Station Key West Campground, also called SIgsbee, is only for active and retired military, reservists, and other military members. Located right on the water with incredible sunsets, it’s the closest RV Park to the RokIsland Music Festival.

Camp With Your RV at Moss Park
If you would rather save a little on camping, Moss Park is a beautiful, shaded, rustic 1500-acre campground with 54 RV sites between Lake Mary Jane and Lake Hart. Enjoy boating, hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities during your stay. The campground features a large modern handicap-accessible bathhouse with wide concrete sidewalks. A downside for some (and upside for others) may be the “no pets or alcohol” rules…. and no Wi-Fi, but cell service is strong.
Enjoy Nature (or Basketball!) at Magnolia RV Park
Magnolia Park on Lake Apopka is also convenient to the theme parks and downtown Orlando. It features some uncommon amenities for a small, pet-friendly,18-site RV park, including a playground and basketball court. Each site has fire rings, grills, picnic tables, lantern hangers, water, and electric hookups. There are dump stations, showers, and flush toilets.

Relax and Swim with Manatees in Crystal River, FL
If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed after your whirlwind visit to the giant theme parks in Orlando, you can head over to the Gulf Coast’s Crystal River, the only place in the U.S. you can swim with gentle manatees. There are some great RV parks in the area.

Heading south along the Gulf from Crystal River, you’ll hit Tampa, a bustling metropolis with fantastic cultural attractions like the Salvador Dali Museum, Zoo Tampa, and the Florida Aquarium. RV Camping in the Everglades
If you are interested in RV camping inside Everglades National Park on your way to the RokIsland Music Festival, there are only two drive-in campgrounds within the park:
The Flamingo Campgrounds are on a breezy open field near the Florida Bay and have showers, two dump stations, picnic tables, grills, and an amphitheater. The sites have pull-through parking spaces and some have electrical hookups. There are 30A-20A-50A pedestals that DO NOT have water at the sites. Filling stations are available next to the dump stations.
Long Pine Key Campground is a few miles from the Anhinga Trail at Royal Palm. Amenities here include restrooms, cold showers, a dump station, and freshwater fill-ups. All tent spaces are first come, first serve, but call ahead for one of the 108 RV sites.
Camp and Snorkel at Dry Tortugas National Park
As you get nearer to Key West, you’ll encounter Dry Tortugas National Park. This park comprises seven beautiful reef islands that make up the Dry Tortugas. Take a tour of Fort Jefferson, built in the 1880s, then enjoy the gorgeous beaches and snorkeling in the clear, shallow waters.
Primitive camping is available (no RVs) in the Dry Tortugas National Park, 70 miles from civilization. Reservations sell out up to a year in advance so plan ahead!
