Things To Do RVing From Los Angeles To Las Vegas

Pink’s Hot Dogs

Although there are too many incredible destinations in Los Angeles to possibly pick from, the list pays homage to a 1939 classic— Pink’s Hot Dogs. Just a couple blocks away from Santa Monica Boulevard, situated right in the middle of LA, Pink’s has been slinging specialty dogs from its quaint roadside setting for decades. Although each creation has more zany toppings than the last, the restaurant is beloved for its classic chili cheese dog.

Knott’s Berry Farm

California’s most beloved amusement park is nestled right between Los Angeles and Anaheim. Knott’s Berry Farm is famous for three reasons: classic theme park rides, out-of-this-world delicious fried chicken, and the Historic Boysenberry Festival in April! Knott’s has an old fashioned eccentricity and charm that’s unbeatable to this day. Among the famous rides, be sure to check out the Old West Ghost Town and hop on the Calico Mine Ride for a slice of Californian history!

And, like any modern amusement park worth its salt, of course there’s a water park too.

Joshua Tree National Park

California’s iconic Joshua Tree National Park is a pilgrimage for anyone traveling to the West Coast. The vast expanse of desert is a natural wonder during the day, when hikers comb through rock formations and weave among the joshua trees. But at night, the open sky unveils an otherworldly beauty that can only be found in places far outside of the city or towns. If you have the time, seize the opportunity to camp out beneath the stars overnight in Joshua Tree National Park.

Lake Havasu

RV trip from Las Angeles to Las Vegas

Although Lake Havasu is a detour outside of the quickest route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, it’s well worth the visit. In the spring and summer, the turquoise waterways fill up with boats and party goers escaping the Arizona heat. That doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of space to stretch out and find some tranquility, however. There are over 40 miles of gorgeous shoreline to go around, with dozens of hidden alcoves and beaches away from the crowds. Biking routes run parallel to the water in many places, so that these spots aren’t only accessible by boat.

Hoover Dam

The most visited dam in the world is a popular stop on the way to Las Vegas. Only 30 miles southeast of the city, Hoover Dam still overlooks the Colorado River since its inception in 1930. As a symbol of American engineering and the fruits of its peoples’ labor, the dam continues to be a truly remarkable monument well worth the visit.

Lion Habitat Ranch

RVing from Las Angeles to Las Vegas

Just outside of Las Vegas to the south, the Lion Habitat Ranch is the first stop before the city’s lights. The nonprofit organization is a sanctuary for over 20 of the big cats of its namesake (and one giraffe). Although the organization was founded in 1989, it opened its doors to the public during the last decade to educate its visitors on its extraordinary guests. The ranch is a champion for big cat conservation efforts, and offers daily live feedings as well as a behind the scenes tour of the cats’ daily lives.
