Begin at the Visitor Center to learn about the park’s ecology and geology before driving into it. You can camp for free just outside the park, and there is a shop nearby.

4.         Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

This is an International Biosphere Reserve in southwestern Arizona bordering Mexico. Apart from organ pipe cacti, the reserve has mountains and boasts beautiful desert sunsets.

The area hosts three different desert vegetation zones and about thirty different cactus species. Organ pipe cactus reaches up to 23 feet high and blossoms between May and July. The flowers open after sunset to avoid the extreme daytime heat.

You can explore the park on different roads and hiking trails, including Ajo Mountain Drive, Puerto Blanco Drive and Bull Pasture/Estes Canyon Loop Trail. Camping is the perfect option to explore the park since its major attractions are far from towns and restaurants. Twin Peaks Campground is the main campground at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.

The site is divided into Upper Antelope Canyon and Lower Antelope Canyon. You need a guided tour to explore either side of the canyon.

5.         Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona’s capital, has lots to offer. It’s a getaway destination for golfers and sun seekers during winter.
