RV Rentals in Phoenix. How Much Does It Cost To Rent An RV For A Week?

Is it Worth It To Rent An RV in Phoenix?

What does it cost for an RV Rental in Phoenix Arizona? We looked at several options and chose a Class C RV through RVnGO. We like the transparency in each transaction. They do not charge the Host or the Guest Any Fees, and the damage protection and Roadside Assistance that the renter pays through the website as part of the RV rental is considerably better. Sure there are charges when renting an RV, just as there are with renting a car or Uhaul. These charges are from the RV Host, though and not from RVnGO.

According to an article by Tripsavvy, you save between 20% – 60% in travel costs when you Rent an RV.

When comparing apples to apples – similar RV class, city, similar amenities, and the same damage protection coverage, RVnGO also saves the renter around 30% from other rental sites.

So, How Much Is It To Rent A Class C RV For A Week near Phoenix Arizona?

What does it cost for a RV Rental By Owner in Phoenix? Well You have several options to select from and many websites offering Weekly RV Rentals in Phoenix Arizona.

The Host we selected is David and the Phoenix RV Rental weekly rate he is charging is $903 for a 2020 Class C, Georgie Boy Maverick.

There is also a booking deposit of $500 and a security deposit of $1,500. For the damage waiver fee, that is $360 for a $1 Million dollar liability coverage and up to $200,000 in damages coverage. You also have 24/7 roadside assistance which will be $72.

*We strongly advise getting the roadside assistance. Then there is the 3% credit card processing fee of $45.57

This Class C RV is a great selection for it’s ease of driving for people compared to a Class A, it allows room for groups of 4 – 8 passengers and many people don’t have a vehicle to tow a trailer. We went with RVnGO because out of all the other sites, they do not charge ANY fees to the Host or the Guest, and the damage protection is considerably better.

Naturally, These rates for an RV Rental in Phoenix vary depending on the Host and the type of RV. Trailers will cost the least and a Campervan or Class B may cost less and a Class A may cost more than the rate shown above. The included amenities will also impact the total rate so be sure to compare side by side, apple to apple.

Dave is a Fleet Host, meaning he has multiple RV units to choose from. Depending on the dates selected, he may have a toy hauler, travel trailers, Class C’s and Class As available. Each individual Host or RV Rental Company may charge extra for generator, and extra mileage, or linens, or even include a waste dumping charge.

You as the Guest will need to shop around and compare prices between the Hosts. Compare several Hosts around Phoenix to get a good idea and also keep in mind to shop and reserve your RV Rental 3-6 months in advance to lock in the one you want.

***NOTE: Other platforms charge Guests 10% or more of the total booking rates and take 20% or more from the Hosts.  Say NO to these tacked on fees from the websites. Other platforms also charge a daily rate for a damage protection plan which is calculated differently from a nightly rate and costs more. Other platforms also may offer different damage protection coverages than what is shown on their website or not show the actual coverages, so you may not be getting what you expect and are not getting the coverages that are stated. So please when shopping, compare apples to apples and read the small print and even call their customer service with questions.

Explore The Desert of Arizona With an RV Rental

The Phoenix Metro area is roughly 50 miles of cityscapes and suburbia. The 5th largest city in the U.S., Phoenix is more than an Arizona metropolitan area though; it’s a desert paradise. With an average of 334 days of sunshine in the year, the city is surrounded by endless outdoor recreational opportunities, and plenty of campgrounds for travelers in RV rentals. People come here from across the world to absorb the warmth of the Arizona sun, scenic views, and western hospitality. During the 3 months of summer when temperatures get into triple digits, we recommend staying hydrated and wearing hats and sunscreen.

Head to the River

When most people think of Phoenix, the first thing that comes to mind is a dry desert. It may be a desert and very hot, but there is water underneath the dry sand that nourishes the succulents and desert botanicals from the sage bushes to the saguaro cactus. There are 2 rivers that are popular with the locals and tourists alike.

Arizona’s iconic Salt River has been a source of recreation for Phoenix area residents for 1,000’s of years. The 200-mile river provides much of the water supply for Greater Phoenix, thanks to canals, pipelines and reservoirs — the latter of which creates many of the nearby lakes that we enjoy: Saguaro, Canyon, Apache, and Roosevelt lakes all act as reservoirs for the  Salt River. Located in the Tonto National Forest, you will need to purchase a recreational day pass to explore the area.

Rio Verde, aka Green River is one of  Arizona’s only two Wild and Scenic Rivers, yet it remains relatively undiscovered as a outdoor recreational destination. That doesn’t mean this clear desert stream has little to offer. It’s an excellent place for hiking, bird watching, seeing wild horses, picnicking, swimming, boating and fishing. The river’s high-quality habitat supports more than 50 endangered, threatened, or special status fish and wildlife species.

Dig For Gold At The Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine

This Arizona state park is only 40 miles east of Phoenix while upholding a sense of isolation and nature. Flat Iron Mountain provides a spectacular backdrop for your stay, and the Flat Iron Summit via Siphon Draw is one of the top-rated hikes in the Phoenix Area. And the best part? It’s RV and RV rental friendly! All RV sizes are accepted, with level parking pads, back-in and pull-through sites, and even electric/water hookups. The park has amazing trails leading into the Superstition Mountains and Tonto National Forest.

Enjoy A Day At Bartlett Lake

If you’re looking to have more of a beachfront camping experience, SB Cover Shoreline is your spot to park your RV rental. The campsite, near Carefree and Scottsdale, sits along the shores of Bartlett Lake, and is on a first-come, first-served basis. There’s no quiet hours or designated sites for this campground, so party on. All you’ll need to ensure you land the perfect spot is a Tonto National Forest Day Pass and good timing.

Head North To Sedona’s Oak Creek Canyon

If you’re looking to get away and soak in some amazingly peaceful scenery, then we have it here in Oak Creek Canyon. There are many stops with relaxing waters for swimming holes and fishing, as well as wildlife watching and hiking. One of the best RV Parks in the area is Rancho Sedona. It has a reputation for its tranquil, creek side setting. The resort is also well maintained and well shaded by large cottonwood trees. The best feature of Rancho Sedona is its central location. It is within walking distance of downtown Sedona. Shops and restaurants are easily accessible, which means you won’t have to deal with the traffic or parking in the business district. Yes, that is a hassle as Sedona has become well known across the world and attracts 1,000s of tourists year round. On your back from Sedona, you must stop at the World Famous Rock Springs Café for the best pie in the world. It has been a tradition in my family for 2 generations to stop there on every trip North.

Cruise Along The Apache Trail

This scenic road was once considered the most treacherous stretch of highway in the country. Today, the well-traveled narrow road still requires some adept driving as most of the road is still unpaved. The speed limit is 15 mph for a very good reason. The narrow and tight turns also deliver jaw-dropping portals to canyons, cliff dwellings, jutting rock formations, sparking blue lakes and dense desert vegetation. The 40-mile Apache Trail twists through the back of the Superstition Mountains and links Apache Junction to Globe and circles the Tonto National Forest. This highway is best explored as a daytrip. A few interesting scenic points along the trail include the ghost town of Goldfield, the Old Western town of Tortilla Flat, the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Tonto National Monument and Weavers Needle Lookout.

Explore The White Mountains

Located in the north eastern part of the state, the mountain range provides a variety of attractions in a climate 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix during the summer. With an elevation of 9,000 feet, summer activities include golfing, camping, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding and just relaxing.

In winter, the White Mountains become just that — white. Sunrise Ski Resort offers outstanding ski runs and other winter sports opportunities, including snowmobiling, and cross country skiing. Much of the White Mountains area is on Native American land, including the Hon-Dah Casino. Rodeos, cultural festivals and parades are common events in the White Mountains region throughout the year.
