Consumer Review of the Coachmen Freelander RV
If you’re in the market for an RV, you’ll want to check out the Coachmen Freelander. We absolutely LOVE ours. The Coachmen Freelander is a Class C RV that has a lot to offer and is perfect for weekend getaways and long road trips alike. It’s big enough to accommodate your whole family comfortably but not so large that it’s challenging to maneuver. The Freelander comes packed with all the features you need to make your RV trip a breeze. So, if you’re thinking about hitting the open road in an RV, be sure to add the Coachmen Freelander to your list of potential candidates.
Class C vs. Class B
As somebody who loves my RV and go RVing often, for most of my life, I am often asked about the different RVs and motorhomes out there. Two of the main categories are Class B and Class C.
Class C RVs are typically larger than Class B RVs. They can range anywhere from 20 feet to 32 feet in length. This extra space means that Class C RVs can accommodate more people and have more storage space. They also usually have slide-outs, which provide even more space inside the RV.
One downside of Class C RVs is that they can be more difficult to drive than Class B RVs. They are also more expensive to maintain and operate.
Class B RVs are smaller and more compact. They range from 16 to 19 feet in length. This makes them easier to drive and maneuver. Class B RVs also tend to be less expensive than Class C RVs.
The trade-off for this is that Class B RVs have less space inside. They can usually only accommodate two to four people comfortably, and because they don’t have slide-outs, there is less room for storage.
So, which one is better? It depends on your needs and preferences. If you need a lot of space or plan on RVing with a group of 4-8 people, then a Class C RV like the Coachmen Freelander is a great option.
Bedroom, Bathroom, and Kitchen in the Coachmen Freelander
We love spending time on the open road, and we were excited to get the chance to test drive the Coachmen Freelander. This RV is billed as being perfect for couples or small families, and we have to say that it lived up to its promise. We were impressed with the amount of space in the bedroom and bathroom. The RV has a queen-size bed and plenty of storage for clothes and other belongings. The bathroom is spacious and includes a shower, toilet, and sink.
We were particularly impressed with the RV’s kitchen. It was well stocked with all the necessary appliances and cookware and had plenty of counter space for food preparation. The RV’s dining area was also comfortable and spacious, making it easy to enjoy meals together as a family, which we feel is important to include in our RV review.
Outside
This RV is definitely on the bigger side, and it has a lot of great features that make it perfect for longer trips. One of the best things about this RV is the amount of storage space. There are tons of compartments and cabinets both inside and outside the RV. This makes it easy to keep everything organized and tidy while on the road.
Another great feature of this RV is that it has composite walls. This means that it won’t be susceptible to water damage, which is always a risk when you’re RVing. However, you should still carry out routine inspections to make sure there is no water intrusion or damage to the exterior seals. Overall, the Coachmen Freelander is a great RV for anyone who wants a lot of space and storage while they’re on the road.
The Chassis
When it comes to RVing, one of the most essential things to think about is the chassis. The Coachmen Freelander is based on a Ford E350, which has been proven successful in the past. This is an ancient frame by current standards; Ford has recently upgraded their E350 with a new V8. This engine and chassis suggest I wouldn’t have any trouble with the truck’s advertised 5,000-pound towing capacity — so you will have no problem towing your boat. In any case, the Freelander’s chassis is more than capable of carrying whatever you need.

Coachmen Freelander Top Benefits
We purchased a Coachmen Freelander RV earlier this year and have been absolutely thrilled with it. It’s been perfect for weekend getaways and longer trips alike. Here are some of the things that we’ve loved most about our RV:
The Freelander is extremely comfortable and spacious. It has a lovely layout with plenty of room for all our belongings. We also really appreciate how well-equipped it is, with everything we need for cooking, sleeping, and relaxing on the road.
Another big plus is how easy it is to drive and maneuver. The Freelander handles beautifully, even in tight spaces. This has made exploring new places a breeze — we can go anywhere without worrying about getting stuck, even if you’re a newbie!
We also love the style and design of our RV. It’s really attractive both inside and out, and it always gets compliments from other RVers. We feel proud whenever we pull up in our Freelander.
All in all, we are extremely happy with our Coachmen Freelander RV. It’s been the perfect addition to our family and has allowed us to enjoy many wonderful experiences together. If you’re looking for a top-quality RV, we highly recommend the Freelander.
P.S. Try A Coachmen Freelander Before You Buy
What’s Not to Like?
The Coachmen Freelander has a few issues that I don’t care for. The most significant of these is the use of a ductless heating system. That means there’s just one heat source for the whole unit, which seems fine if you live in the tropics but not so great when you’re spending $100,000.
The split mattress in the back can cause problems if someone finds themselves sleeping in the middle, and there is a little step in the middle of the bedroom that is a serious trip hazard. It’s basically invisible!
If you are in the market for an RV, I highly recommend considering a Class C like the Coachmen Freelander. It has all the features of a Class B but with more living space. That said, there are some things to keep in mind before making your purchase. Make sure you test drive different models and ask lots of questions to get a feel for what will work best for your needs. If you want to experience life on the road in style, I recommend checking out a Coachmen Freelander from RVnGO.
