Hikes at the Best National Parks

On this segment of the RVers Peter and John from the RV Geeks show off their three favorite national parks for RVing. After touring all the National Parks in the continental US these three parks were Peter and Johns favorite out of the smaller parks. These two love hiking and shared their favorite hikes at these parks.

Zion National Park

Angels landing is Peter’s favorite hike in Zion National Park. You’ll start by hiking out of the basin and eventually reach a false summit called Scouts Lookout. This beautiful view is a perfect stopping point if you aren’t comfortable with the next…The next section of the hike is so steep that there is a chain fence bolted into the rock face to keep you from falling. This part of the hike is nicknamed the chains and is not for the faint of heart, but once you reach the top the views are worth it. See breathtaking 360 degree views at the summit of this hike.

Arches National Park

At Arches National park there is an RV campground, but because of the RV Geek’s big rig they prefer parking right outside of the park. The best hike at this National Park is the famous Delicate Arch Hike. This relatively easy hike is not long and the incline is not too steep. The grand payoff of this hike relatively easy hike is a final view of the delicate arch. Covered by a rock wall on your way up, the final view takes your breath away.

Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake National Park is home to Crater Lake, the bluest lake in the United States. This deep blue color is due to its insane depth and the fact that the lake does not have any feeder streams or output streams. Cleetwood Cove Hike is the only way to get down to the surface of Crater Lake. Tom from Mortons on the Move and Peter went into Crater Lake on their last journey. Tom said he couldn’t believe just how blue it was once he got down there!

How to Filter RV Water Properly

Being on the go means that you’ll be getting water from a variety of places. In order to keep everyone in your RV safe its smart to install a water filtration system to clean up the hardwater.  The two main types of  RV filtration are inline filtration and a 2 stage system.

An inline filter only has one canister and is not great for long term RVing. This small filter does not last longer than a weekend and mainly just filters out particulate that is visible. A 2 stage system is much more efficient.

With RV Water Filter Store you are able to purchase high quality water filters that filter out everything harmful. With their hard water system you can rest knowing that all the water coming into your RV is safe to drink. Their systems can be installed outside of the RV or inside. This makes them easily customizable for any RV! With proper care these filters can last months and even longer depending on your water intake.
