This season 2 episode  2 of the RVers covers Technomadia’s tech streaming tips and all the fun you can have boondocking with Anthony and Matt.

Technomadia and Tech on the Road

Technomadia shares with us the best ways to stay connected and enjoy media on the go! There are 5 different ways to stay connected and watch TV while on the road. The most common way is OTA which means Over The Air. This way of watching TV allows you to use an antenna and watch the local channels. Another way to enjoy TV while on the road is using the TV cable connections offered at many RV campsites. This is easy, but is only available at RV campsites that have access to Cable TV. The third way RVers watch TV is the common satellite TV rig. This option is perfect for hardcore RVers because it can even stream while the RV is on the move- perfect for kids!

The last two ways to stay connected with the outside world doesn’t stream live TV. Instead you can stay connected with streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube TV, and Disney +. This strategy is the easiest when you have stable data or internet connection. Stream to the big screen with something as simple as an HDMI dongle! Or enjoy the good old fashioned way of watching with the tried and true CDs. Just plug in a CD with a movie, or find a CD set and you can enjoy TV shows just like being at home!

Preparing for Boondocking with Anthony and Matt

In the RVers season 2 episode 2, Peter from the RV Geeks takes Anthony and Matt on a Boondocking adventure in Split Rail Arizona. Peter is a huge boondocker but Anthony and Matt are a little more hesitant. For people who aren’t familiar with the word, boondocking is setting up your RV in the nature- no toilets, hookups or anything else an RV park usually has!

To start prepping for boondocking, Peter has them do a dry run at camp. No outside food, water, or dumping. After some other prep work and tips like preparing water intensive food (hard boiled eggs, washing veggies), they’re ready to head off into the desert.

After a week of boondocking it was a success! The guys loved being out in nature and being totally removed. The only thing missing is the sore back from sleeping on the hard ground, LOL. After all, RVing is about traveling and seeing everything you can in comfort, even when boondocking. The guys said that boondocking was like a breath of fresh air. With boondocking you are actually in nature, not a glorified parking lot! They also learned a lot about the correlation between big rigs and comfortable boondocking- the bigger water tanks you have the more comfortable you can be!
