Best Resorts and RV Rentals in Tennessee For 2023
The heartland of country music, the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains, and home to Elvis Presley’s Graceland. Tennessee is a dream southern destination for nature lovers and historians alike. The Grand Ole Opry has called to people from across the US for decades as the Volunteer State shed its hidden gem status.
With equal amounts of things to do in the city and in nature, RVing is a great way to experience everything the state has to offer. And as it happens, RVnGO has a great selection of RV rentals in Tennessee to pick from.
In our guide below, we’ll feature RV resorts and RV rentals throughout the state to make your next trip a breeze.
Let’s dive in!
RV Rentals in Tennessee
Although there are numerous RV rentals on the market in the state, we’ve selected five that stand out for their amenities, delivery options, and proximity to major cities or destinations.
2022 Coachmen Freelander 27QB
This Class C RV is brand new and well appointed to get you anywhere you need to go in Tennessee. The 29 foot model can sleep up to eight people comfortably despite being relatively smaller compared to oversized travel trailers that can fit the same number of people. For this reason, it’s a great RV to travel with for more inexperienced RV drivers that are looking for a slightly smaller vehicle but still want to travel in a large group.
The Coachmen features a full size refrigerator, a sizable shower, and plenty of storage options in each section of the RV. Also included is an awning and queen bed in the master bedroom. The model is available for delivery but not one-way travel.

Within the 21 feet of this model, you’ll find an airplane shower, small kitchen and dinette with appliances, swivel driver and passenger seats, GPS, and a fold out bed. The exterior of the RV is also decked out with an outdoor shower, outdoor radio, awning, and a bike rack.

2021 Forest River Forester LE 3251
The interior of the 2021 Forest River Forester LE 3251 makes use of every square inch of its 32 feet. This spacious Class C RV can accommodate up to six people without feeling cramped. Plus, the beds aren’t your typical twin sized sleepers. The Forest River’s sleeping arrangements include a queen mattress in the master bedroom, a queen size loft, a full size sleeper sofa, and two bunks (one twin and one full).
The hosts of this RV rental can make your RV experience incredibly easy with their flexible pick up options. You can request that your rental be delivered and set up to your campsite within a 150 mile radius of McEwan, Tennessee. You can drive the rental to your destination yourself, or you also have the option to stay in the hosts personal campsite setup on their property!
This RV rental unit is also pet friendly, so bring your fur babies along.

2019 Gulf Stream Ameri Lite
Small but mighty, Golf Stream’s 2019 Ameri Lite model is only 18 feet long. The compact size makes it a great towable trailer for first-time drivers looking to start on a smaller size. The Ameri Lite can sleep up to four adults with a full size bed and two twin bunks. Amenities in the trailer include a smart tv, cleaning supplies, linens and pillows, and four chairs for your campsite.
If the full size bed is being used, the trailer won’t be able to accommodate its dinette table. To make up for this, the host includes a collapsible outdoor table. If the full size bed isn’t needed, the table can be utilized again with the removable of the bed. Be sure to notify the host ahead of time of your intentions, and they’ll be able to set everything up for you.
Though the RV doesn’t come with a generator, one can be rented from the hosts by request.

RV Resorts In Tennessee
Because RV camping isn’t allowed deep within Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we’ve put together a short list of great RV resorts on the outer rim of the park. Plus, places to stay when visiting Nashville.
Cades Cove Campground
The park at Cades Cove Campground is known for its beautiful wildlife. Nestled amongst the trees, the peaceful quiet of the resort means you’ll often be able to spot deer and other critters without even leaving the grounds.
The campground itself is located in Townsend, and is nearby plenty of fabulous hiking trails. Cades Cove Scenic Loop is accessible right from the park and has breathtaking views of the mountains in the distance. Waterfalls, creeks, and meadows dot the region, all within walking distance of Cades Cove.
There are no electric hookups at this campground, but generators are allowed. A small camp store has some snack options, and there are restrooms available on site.
Elkmont Campground
Another popular spot for RV campers is Elkmont Campground in Gatlinburg. These campgrounds are also close to a number of well traveled trailheads. The nearest is the Elkmont Nature loop by the campgrounds and Laurel Falls trailhead to the north.
Elkmont is situated by the banks of Little River. Many of the 220 campsites will have the sound of water flowing directly behind their lodging. As such, the campgrounds do not have hookups. The true amenities are the incredible sights around you.
Because of the smaller winding roads that go to and from the campgrounds, Elkmont Campground is most appropriate for smaller RVs and trailers.
Twin Creek RV Resort
Twin Creek RV Resort is a happy medium for people looking for more modern amenities while still staying mostly minimal by nature. The park is located by Route 321 and close to grocery stores, farmers markets, and shops. But it’s also right on the outskirts of the looming wilderness. The campgrounds themselves are full of tree cover but have the wide, paved roads you won’t get within the heart of nature. For that reason, it’s a great place to camp with larger RVs and trailers.
Twink Creek has a swimming pool and camp store on site. However, most of its features still hail from the loveliness of its surroundings. Restrooms and showers are available on the premises, and there are full hookups for electric and water.
Nashville KOA RV Resort
Fans of the KOA brand will be right at home amongst all the amenities that the Nashville KOA RV Resort offers. The park is located 20 minutes away from downtown Nashville with over 350 campsites available. As an added perk, the park provides shuttle service to and from Nashville city center.
Features at Nashville KOA include a swimming pool and hot tub, live music, gym, activities for children, a dog park, and much much more.
Elm Hill RV Resort
Another RV resort located within 20 minutes from Nashville is the serene Elm Hill RV Resort. The grounds are located directly on the shores of J Percy Priest Reservoir. Though smaller than Nashville KOA, Elm Hill is still on the larger side with 130 sites available.
Many of those sites are right on the shorefront. Though Elm Hill doesn’t have as many luxury amenities as KOA, it makes up for it in the beauty of its natural features. Fishing is allowed at the lake. You can also rent kayaks and paddleboards through the resort.
There’s so much to do and see in this wonderful state that you’ll be hard pressed to do it all in one go. Where have you stayed when you went RVing? Which of the RV rentals in Tennessee did you choose? Let us know in the comments below!
