We don’t just mean any type of glamping trip either. The kind of rejuvenation that you get from a day at the spa is equally as potent when it’s found in nature. When you go glamping in an RV, you’ll still have all of the benefits that being out in the wild can give you. Just with some luxurious creature comforts to make the trip as relaxing as possible too!

In this article, we’ll cover all of the basics when it comes to RV glamping. Plus, types of RVs to check out and must have glamping accessories to bring with you.

Basics Of Glamping In An RV

In order to be considered glamping, you either have to bring some luxury camping accessories with you on your trip, or stay in an RV. For the purposes of this article, we’re going to explore how you can take your glamping experience to the max with an awesome RV and some great accessories!

Here’s the absolute bottomline of camping in an RV: you’re already technically glamping just by doing so. All the incredible conveniences that an RV brings to your trip (showers and toilets, anyone?) already makes it a luxury to experience. But you can push the experience even further by choosing an RV that’s 100% made for glamping in mind.

Best Type Of RV For Glamping

Both models come with large flat screen televisions and plenty of square footage in the living area. The kitchens are equipped with lots of granite counter space and mid to full size appliances. Queen and king size mattresses in the bedroom, washing machines in the unit, and an electric fireplace are the cherries on top of these amazing rentals.

Regardless of the make and model of your RV, what truly makes it an unforgettable glamping experience is how it fits to your needs. If you’re able to compromise in some areas to benefit others and stay on budget, do so! That way, you can have a large kitchen if you plan on cooking a lot, or gaming TVs in the living room with full size seating if you’re all about entertainment.

Glamping In An Airstream

One of the most popular models in RV glamping are Airstreams. Their vintage exterior look is Insta worthy all on its own, and the dreamy interiors can make even the coldest of nights warm and inviting.

Since Airstreams tend to be on the smaller side of travel trailer options, they’re perfect for couples or people traveling alone. Larger Airstreams, like their Globetrotter model, can sleep up to six people, but will come in at a heftier price.

RV Glamping vs Glamping Tents

Particularly in places like California and Nevada, glamping tents and yurts have sprung up in popularity over the years. If you’re steadfast on keeping your glamping experience dry, these will work fine for you. However, glamping in an RV is all about the features you can’t get with a regular camping experience.

By this we mean things like private showers and toilets right in your campsite so that you don’t have to walk across camp or pay extra to do so. You’ll be able to extend your camping season as well with an RV so that you can go camping in colder temperatures at the beginning of end of the year.

You’ll also have a keener sense of privacy and security with an RV that you can’t get with a tent. Although that’s probably not thought of as a glamping component, the kind of peace of mind you get with a locked door and window curtains you can close is immeasurable in the wilderness.

Glamping Accessories

Outdoor Rug

The quickest way to take your outdoor setup from camping to glamping is with a waterproof outdoor rug! Not only does it keep your site tidier and a bit warmer for your feet, but it gives your space a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Although that last one is an intangible bonus, having such a cozy for your site is what glamping is all about.

A simple 5×7 or 4×6 rug will do, although you can always go bigger for larger sites as well! 

Along with this accessory, we’d also like to recommend outdoor pillows as well. They’re great for extra back support in camping chairs or for lying around by the fire. Plus, they along with the rug are what add a luxury component to the area where you’ll likely be spending most of your downtime, which is outside.

Exterior Lighting

Some RVs will come with LED lights around its awning if it has one. Otherwise, having some form of warm lighting will complete your outdoor glamping setup. String lights for an awning or to position around the exterior of the RV will complement the warm glow of the fire and allow you to do more things outside at night.

If you can’t get your hands on string lights, lanterns to place around the area work great too! Of course the type of lightbulb within them is totally up to you. However, to maximize the warmth of your space, we like the warmer toned LED lights.

Projector and Screen

A definite luxury to have while you’re glamping is an outdoor projector and screen for movies by the fire. Though before we go any further, it’s important to note that you’ll have to use common sense with this item. If your campgrounds have a noise curfew or generally ask that campers don’t play music or disturb the peace too much, leave the projector at home. Being respectful of your neighbors is critical while you’re out in nature. 

That being said, if you have a campsite that’s far away from others, or are staying in  campgrounds that have no noise curfews, gathering for a movie beneath the stars can be an amazing way to spend the night.

If you’re able to hook up your screen to the side of the RV, you’ll be good to go. If you don’t want to count on that being a possibility, invest in a standing screen like this one from Walmart.
