1. Overpack on Food and Drinks

It is better to bring too much than not bring enough. It is a long weekend so make sure to be prepared. It is important to have plenty of water so you can stay hydrated. An easy tip would be to identify the nearest grocery store or market near the festival. In the mornings, you can resupply on things like ice and other necessities you may be out of. There will be food and drinks in the venue that you can buy but make sure to have a supply in your campsite as well. Plus, you must make sure that you have enough beer for the entire weekend!

2. Bring Proper Attire

You are going to be outside all day and night, make sure you can brave the sunny days and the cold nights. Bring clothes that you can layer well, something like tees and shorts then you can add jackets or hoodies as it gets colder. Also, the campsites and get very dusty and if there is rain, muddy. Bring shoes or boots that you are not afraid of getting dirty and muddy. You also want to bring sunscreen and chap stick, as you will be doing a lot of activities out in the sun. Being prepared can make the experience more memorable as you can focus on the events and activities rather than being too cold, too hot, or too dirty.

3. Bring Proper Accessories

Like we said before, you are going to be out and moving a lot, be prepared with all the best accessories for your technology. Bring items such as battery packs and fans to keep you going all day. Keep your phone charged so you can get good pictures with your friends and video of the concerts. Having a plug-in fan will also help you stay cool while on the go. I would also recommend bringing a lightweight wallet with a lanyard so you can have easy access to your ID and money. Being prepared and ready for any situation you come across.

4. Tailgate Games For The Family

This is a festival you are spending with people you love; nothing brings people together like fun games such as cornhole and washers. Bring games and get a tournament going with all your friends. You will find many new games as well when you are walking around the many campsites. So, look around and see if there are any new games you would like to learn, and then go ask to play. People are friendly and will be willing to teach you how to play a new game and how it works. But with games, make sure to never take a win or a loss too personal and just have fun!

5. Get the Perfect Campsite Set Up

You will be spending a good amount of time at the campsite, so make sure you set it up in a way that is comfortable. Bring lots of chairs and shade to ensure you have somewhere to rest and get out of the sun. Have your ice chest easily accessible but keep in the shade so nothing inside melts or gets to warm. Many people will purchase multiple spots next to each other or plan with their neighbor to combined and make a bigger campsite. Doing this will expand your campsite so you can have more people at your site and be a popular place for people to want to hang out. Make the most of the space you have, and do not be afraid to add a bit of flare to your campsite with interesting decorations and kiddy pools.

6. Explore all the Campsites

Do you love people watching to see the unexpected things that people do, say, and wear? Country Thunder is full of diverse and unique individuals who express themselves, making it a prime spot to people watch. As you walk around all the campsites, you will see awesome set ups, interesting people, and maybe find a random dance floor in the heart of a campsite. The people at these festivals are fun and rowdy, there will be no shortage of interesting outfits worn. There are amazing trailers and RVs to explore with plenty of fun festival goers. Mostly everyone is friendly and welcoming, so never be afraid to strike up a conversation with someone.

7. Save your Spot at the Concert Early

The crowds grow larger and larger as the day progresses. Get into the venue as soon as the doors open with your chairs to reserve your spot for that night. Make sure to bring some string or tape to mark off your chairs so no one takes your chairs or your spot. Doing this early will ensure you get a good seat for the concert. Personally, I prefer sitting on the outskirts of the stage, so you do not have to deal with major crowds of people walking past you the entire concert but choose your seats according to your preferences.

8. Plan Your Meal Times

It is important to know who is playing on the stage at what time, so you can know when you want to eat. You will want to be strategic to make sure you are eating at times where the musicians you want to see are not playing. Also planning out your meals will help you decide what ingredients you need to bring and what you are going to eat. Also being prepared with all the cooking and eating utensils for your mealtimes. Make sure it is something easy but filling, such as burgers, tacos, or hotdogs. Knowing when and what you are going to eat will make it easier to plan and have a smooth experience at Country Thunder.

9. Bring Cash into the Venue

There are awesome shops and restaurants to eat at in the venue so make sure you have enough cash to buy that awesome hat and churro. There are also fun rides such as roller coasters, sling shots, and more that you will want to explore. You do not want to miss out on all the fun to be had because you were short on cash.

10. Be a Good Person

It is a fun event where you can kick back and have a great time. But do not forget that other people are trying to enjoy themselves too. Treat everyone with respect and be kind. Say hello to your neighbors, make friends with strangers, and smile at everyone. Events like Country Thunder are meant to bring people together.
