The NASCAR Cup Series Championship is right around the corner. The 2nd to last race for the 2022 series will occur on Sunday, October 30th at 2:00 pm. As the NASCAR Cup Series season ends, the pressure is on the drivers racing for a spot in the Championship 4. About the Martinsville Speedway
Martinsville Speedway is a NASCAR short track located in Martinsville, Virginia. The track is 0.526 miles long and is one of the oldest tracks on the NASCAR circuit, having first hosted a race in 1947. The track is known for its unique shape, which is dictated by the Virginia Impressionist artist, Percy Shafer. Martinsville Speedway is also known for its unique history, having hosted races won by some of NASCAR’s biggest names, including Richard Petty, Dale Earn Hardt, and Bill Elliott.
How to Get to The Martinsville Speedway
Martinsville Speedway is in Martinsville, Virginia, about an hour’s drive from Greensboro, North Carolina. The track is accessible from both Interstate highways 81 and 77. Take Exit 100 off I-81, then follow Route 58 East for about 15 miles. You can also take Exit 268 off I-77, then follow Route 220 South for about 12 miles. For those coming from the south, Martinsville Speedway is about an hour’s drive from Winston-Salem, NC. Take Exit 132 off I-40, then follow Route 220 North for about 25 miles.
Camping at Martinsville Speedway
There are eight camping locations at the Martinsville Speedway: General Admissions, 3rd Turn, Backstretch, Campground Entrance, Crossing’s Corner, Hillside, North Lot, and South Lot. Every camping spot besides General Admission is sold out for the NASCAR Cup Series Xfinity 500. If you are planning on camping at the Martinsville Speedway, then purchase your general admissions spot ASAP.
Camping tickets and race tickets are separate. Make sure to purchase both tickets to enjoy the races and bring your RV. General admission spaces come with complimentary portable restrooms and a shower facility. Any extra vehicles must park in the overflow lot at gate 8.
